The Upper Reaches of the Murray

No you will not see where the Murray bubbles out of the ground, this requires a 2 or 3 day extended tour and some hard driving and hard walking. However on this tour we can take you to some very secluded spots for a picnic or some quiet fishing. Minimum time required: 3 hours

The source of the Murray

See where the Murray bubbles out of the ground, this requires a 2 or 3 day extended tour and some hard driving and hard walking. However on this tour we can take you to some very secluded spots, but remember this trip requires at least one night camp out under the stars. The chances of seeing “brumbies” on this trip are high.

Re-trace the path of the last ride of "Man From Snowy River"

This trip starts from the actual grave of “The Man From Snowy River”, Jack Riley. It can take in Tom Groggin Station, Mt Pinnibar, the Murray River and the actual place where Jack Riley died. Depending on which of these features you wish to see, allow a minimum of 4 hours, up to 6 or 7 for the full trip

Waterfalls

Cool off in a mountain stream at the foot of the rapids and waterfalls in this most beautiful area. At least 3 to 4 hours but could easily fill a day. A bit of walking could also be included

Railway Bridges

Travel railway lines, view massive timber railway bridges, spanning gullies and creeks. You will almost still hear the sounds of the giants of the steam era grinding their way through the mountains. 3 to 6 hours could be easily filled.

Mount Lawson

Granite tors and views spectacular! About 3 hours.

Aboriginal Cave Paintings

The trip involves a difficult walk to the paintings. Allow 4 to 5 hours

Mining in the Upper Murray

Visit areas of alluvial and reef mining, the sites of vanished townships with their tantalising evidence of lives once lived. Fossick in the overburden from the mines, explore inside if you are game and pan the streams. 4 to 8 hours could easily be filled and you may make a profit on the gold you find.

Homestead Gardens of the past

Visit sites of old historic homesteads. The houses are gone but the memories live on. About 3 hours.

Drive to the top of Mount Pinnibar

Panoramic views of the Main Range, Mount Townsend and Kosciuzsko to the East and in the other direction, Hotham and Bogong. Allow 4 hours but a day could be filled by adding in other features.

Davies Plain

Travel along a mountain plateau of snow gums and frost hollows. You may even glimpse wild brumbies, if you’re lucky, as they flash through the trees to escape man‘s view. This trip is totally recommended as it takes in some of the most beautiful country in the world and you should allow a full day.

Huts of the High Country

Visit mountain cattlemen's huts of varied construction. This trip is also on the highly recommended list. It includes river crossings by car and foot, if you are so inclined. There are many different huts and you are almost guaranteed to see wild life such as Kangaroos. Minimum trip of 3 hours.

Other Trips of Interest Allow about 2 to 3 hours for each of these.

Mount Elliot

A rugged climb to see where the hang gliders jump from. Also includes spectacular views of the Corryong Valley.

Mount Mittamatite

Look down on Corryong and across to the main range. It is possible to combine or re-arrange trips to suit your needs. If you would like us to look after the catering for your group, this can also be arranged.

Pine Mountain

Circumnavigate the largest monolith in Australia. Yes its one and a half times bigger than Uluru (Ayers Rock). For the fit a walk to the top is a must.
